Repair searches are some of the most specific and urgent on Google: “iPhone 15 screen repair Manchester”, “PS5 HDMI port repair near me”, “MacBook battery replacement price”. The customer has a broken device, wants it fixed quickly at a fair price, and will usually choose one of the first businesses they see. For repair shops, that makes local SEO extremely valuable. This guide covers what works, based on our experience building and optimising websites for repair businesses such as Tech Lab Repairs and RepairPod.
This article is part of our complete guide: SEO for Small Business: The Complete Guide (2026).
How customers search for repairs
Repair searches combine several parts:
- Device and brand: iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, iPad, MacBook, PS5, Nintendo Switch, laptop.
- Model: iPhone 13, Galaxy S23, MacBook Air M1.
- Problem or part: screen, battery, charging port, water damage, keyboard, HDMI port.
- Location or intent: near me, town name, same day, price, cost.
Your website structure should mirror these searches.
Step 1: Google Business Profile comes first
For “near me” searches, the map pack dominates. Choose the most accurate primary category (for example “Mobile phone repair shop” or “Computer repair service”), add secondary categories for other repair types, set accurate opening hours, add services with prices, and upload real photos of your shop, workbench and repaired devices. Respond to every review. See Google Business Profile optimisation.
Step 2: Build a clear repair page structure
A strong structure for a repair shop looks like this:
- Device category pages: phone repairs, tablet repairs, laptop repairs, console repairs.
- Brand pages: iPhone repairs, Samsung repairs, MacBook repairs.
- Repair type pages for high-demand services: iPhone screen replacement, iPhone battery replacement, PS5 HDMI port repair.
- A price list or repair booking tool where customers choose device, model and repair.
You do not need a separate page for every model and every fault, which would create thousands of thin pages. Create dedicated pages for your most searched and most profitable repairs, and handle the long tail with a well-structured price list or booking tool.
Step 3: Show prices and turnaround times
Price is a deciding factor. Show prices or “from” prices on repair pages and in your booking tool, along with typical turnaround (“most screen repairs in under an hour”) and warranty. Transparent pricing builds trust, reduces time-wasting calls and helps pages match “price” and “cost” searches.
Step 4: Write useful repair pages
Each key repair page should explain the symptoms, what the repair involves, parts used (original, high-quality or refurbished, stated honestly), price, time, warranty, data safety, and what the customer needs to do (backup, passcodes). Add photos of real repairs and FAQs. Use specific titles: “iPhone 14 Screen Repair in Bolton | Same-Day, 12-Month Warranty”. See title tags.
Step 5: Make booking easy on mobile
Most repair searches happen on phones. Show a call button, a WhatsApp link if you use it, opening hours and directions at the top. Offer online booking or a quick quote form where customers select their device and problem. Fewer steps mean more bookings.
Step 6: Build trust signals
- Warranty details on every repair.
- Genuine Google reviews displayed on the site.
- Photos of your shop and technicians.
- Clear data privacy policy for devices.
- Business details and address consistent everywhere.
Step 7: Add local business structured data
LocalBusiness markup with your address, hours, phone and geo-coordinates helps Google connect your website with your profile. Service markup can describe key repairs. See local business schema.
Step 8: Create helpful content
Short guides answer questions customers search before deciding: “Is it worth repairing an old iPhone?”, “What to do if your phone gets wet”, “How to tell if your laptop battery needs replacing”, “Repair or replace: PS5 HDMI port”. Each guide should link to the relevant repair page.
Step 9: Keep the site fast and indexable
Booking tools and large price lists can be heavy. Make sure key repair pages are real, indexable HTML pages rather than content only inside a JavaScript widget that Google may not read. Test with URL Inspection. We noted during our portfolio review that one repair site was sending a noindex tag on its homepage, which alone would keep it out of Google; check yours. See noindex guide.
Step 10: Mail-in and multi-location repairs
If you offer postal repairs nationwide, create a dedicated mail-in repair page explaining the process, packaging, insurance and turnaround. For multiple shops, give each location its own page and Google Business Profile with unique details.
Selling refurbished devices and accessories
Many repair shops also sell refurbished phones, laptops and accessories. These product pages can bring extra search traffic, but only if each one is useful: state the grade or condition honestly, list specifications, battery health, what is included, the warranty and returns policy, and use your own photos of the actual device. Group products into clear categories such as “refurbished iPhones” and add a short introduction to each category. Avoid copying manufacturer descriptions, which appear on thousands of other sites.
Getting reviews that mention repairs
Reviews that mention the device and repair (“fixed my iPhone 13 screen in 40 minutes”) are especially persuasive to new customers and add relevant wording to your profile. You cannot tell customers what to write, but you can ask a simple question when requesting a review, such as “What did we fix for you today?”, which naturally encourages detail. Reply to each review, thank the customer and mention the repair where it fits.
Common mistakes on repair websites
- No prices anywhere.
- Thousands of near-identical model pages.
- Key information only in images or a booking widget.
- Opening hours that differ between website and Google.
- Slow pages with large stock photos.
- No reviews strategy.
What results look like
A repair shop with a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews and well-structured repair pages can see increased map pack visibility within weeks, and stronger organic rankings for model-specific repairs over a few months. Tracking calls, bookings and walk-ins by source shows which repairs to promote further.

Do repair prices on the website help SEO?
They help match price searches and build trust, which improves enquiries.
How important are Google reviews for repair shops?
Very. Reviews strongly influence map pack visibility and customer choice.
